Community forests remain the only sure way of safeguarding the last of our natural resources. The public owns the forest therefore the public should manage the resource. A simple statement perhaps, but one proved by the number of successful community forests already in operation around the province.

What then is the hold up? Why is a strategy to develop viable community control of our forests not being actively developed? The answer is simple. The BC Liberals will not make logs available in large enough quantities to support a truly viable community venture. They would rather hand control of “your forests” to greedy multi national corporations and then provide them with the means to rape and plunder both your resources and your jobs.

The Youbou TimberLess Society has a proven strategy to manage a genuinely sustainable, ecologically friendly and financially viable community forest and local log market. Please join us in our fight to obtain fibre and financial support.
