To whom it may concern!

I worked in the Youbou sawmill for twenty five years! I strained my back six times pulling heavy lumber on a greenchain...It is now all arthritic and at 50 years of age, I now move around like an 80 year old. WCB says its the arthritis & government says take an aspirin! Over two hundred and twenty of us lost our jobs through government scandal & deceit. We were told there wasn't enough fibre initially, then we weren't viable anymore. Then we were denied EI till we exhausted our severance pay. Then we had to jump through hoops & hurdles to try to get retrained, & still didn't. Then we heard aid was offered to us, but my local EI representative told me it all went to Quebec. The FRBC scandal part 2. Then after 2 years passed without finding a job......had to apply for welfare on New Years Eve. I have no income now and am ready to lose my home. I've been denied welfare till I go through a job search!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What the F#%k!!!!!!!!! Our sawmills are turning into wood mizers because the Americans feel our trees aren't surplus to our needs. What a crock of BS. I've sent dozens of e-mails to my local MLA with questions and haven't received any replies. You took away legal aid for the poor and don't want to acknowledge our symptoms of depression and the fact our ages are being discriminated against.Talk about accountability !!! All this government seems to do is.....ruin lives and help their rich business partners screw us all to death. Happy New Year. Another year of more crap if I make it. I just can't figure out how, after demeaning us for years, treating us like ignorant children and doing nothing but shrugging their shoulders as they lie to our face, feel we are suppose to have this youthful energy to happily accept an $8.00 an hour job when it was almost impossible making it with 3 times that. Maybe welfare should keep a bowl of cyanide tablets handy for all of us forced into this predicament!

PS- how are we suppose to find a job when there is no money to even eat with. No phone, no transportation$, no internet$, no clothes money........etc etc
