The Wednesday, 23 May 2007 meeting of the Executive Directors was changed from Lake Cowichan to Buckles Restaurant, Duncan. The 9:00 AM meeting convened with all Directors but Casey present. Members E. Boylan, K. Dickens, and L. Vermiere attended.

1. It was moved and seconded to accept the minutes of the 09 May 2007 meeting as circulated.

2. It was moved and seconded to accept the agenda for today’s meeting as circulated.

3. The Treasurer made no report.

4. The Secretary reported email correspondence.

The Secretary reported feedback from journalist Mark Hume.

The Secretary reported receipt of SOVA petition postcards for distribution.

The Secretary reported on Director Jack Casey’s health.

5. Discussion about changing the website service provider. Keith has agreed to inquire about an alternative service provider and pricing.

6. Ken reported on communications with Duane Riddoch of Campbell River with respect to the Ban Log Exports Coalition.

7. Richard reported on the official opening of the Forest Workers Memorial Park in Lake Cowichan on Saturday, 19 May 2007.

8. Roger reported a request from the BC Forests Society to help assist their meeting in Duncan this June. Roger to follow-up.

9. Discussion about The Great Lake Walk. Richard agreed to organize and collect donations if a champion steps forward. Roger to follow-up.

10. Discussion about the Lake Cowichan parade. Rick agreed to inquire about registration. Ken will ask about seedlings.

11. Roger moved and Richard seconded a motion to have Ken James formally recognized as the Society president (at the same pay). All agreed.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:00 AM after the Directors agreed to reconvene at Buckles Restaurant, Duncan on Wednesday, 30 May 2007 at 9:00 AM.
