Wednesday June 13, 2007

The Wednesday, 13 June 2007 meeting of the Executive Directors was convened at Buckles Restaurant, Duncan at 9:00 AM with all Directors but Casey and Weir present. Member L. Vermiere attended.

1. It was moved and seconded to accept the minutes of the 30 May 2007 meeting as circulated.

2. It was moved and seconded to accept the agenda for today’s meeting as circulated.

3. The Treasurer reported current balances.

The Secretary reported email correspondence.

The Secretary reported filing the Annual Society Report and fee with the BC Government.

5. Discussion about success of the YTS float entered in the Lake Cowichan Parade on Saturday, 09 June 2007. A third prize ribbon was earned. About 1200 seedlings were given away. Special thanks are in order to Cairnpark Nursery Services and Dinter Nursery for their material support. Ken will inquire about entry into the Duncan Parade.

6. Roger reported that YTS member and former Youbou Sawmill worker Buddy Bhandar has agreed to represent the Society in The Great Lake Walk to be held Saturday, 15 September 2007. Richard Weir has agreed to supervise fundraising. Roger will prepare pledge sheets.

7. Roger reported on communications with BC Forests Society President Harry Drage about holding their AGM in Duncan. The exact date and venue is yet to be confirmed.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:00 AM after the Directors agreed to reconvene at the Riverside Hotel Restaurant, Lake Cowichan on Wednesday, 27 June 2007 at 9:00 AM.
