The Wednesday, 01 August 2007 meeting of the Executive Directors was convened at the Riverside Inn Restaurant, Lake Cowichan at 9:00 AM with
all Directors but Casey and Weir present.

1. It was moved and seconded to accept the minutes of the 18 July 2007 meeting as circulated.

2. It was moved and seconded to accept the agenda for today’s meeting as circulated.

3. The Treasurer did not report.

4. The Secretary reported email correspondence.
The Secretary reported sending the annual Uniserve payment in full for the www.savebcjobs.com website service.

5. Chris, Ken, and Roger reported on the Monday, 23 July 2007 Forestry Field Trip to Shawnigan Lake. Coordinated by Ray Travers of the BC Forests Society and Al Mitchell of the Canadian Forest Service, the field trip examined various field management strategies to optimize fibre quantity and quality based on stocking densities and extended rotation times in Douglas fir. Federal and provincial representatives attended.

6. Roger reported that one of the newly produced YTS T-shirts has been gifted to our Great Lake Walk champion. Please support the YTS by supporting Buddy Bhandar with a generous pledge. (Fashionable, YTS summer-season T-shirts are now available for sale from Ken.)

7. Ken reported on recent telephone conversations with Dr. Scott Prudham at the University of Toronto. A conference call to discuss strategy will be held soon.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:00 AM after the Directors agreed to reconvene at the Riverside Hotel Restaurant, Lake Cowichan on Wednesday,
15 August 2007 at 9:00 AM.
