The Wednesday, 13 February 2008 meeting of the Executive Directors was shifted to Wednesday, 20 February 2008. All Directors but Casey and Vermiere convened at the Silverbridge Hotel Restaurant, Duncan at 9:00 AM. Member K. Dickens attended.

1. It was moved and seconded to accept the minutes of the 31 January 2008 meeting as circulated.

2. It was moved and seconded to accept the agenda for today’s meeting as circulated.

3. The Treasurer reported a technical difficulty with generating a year-end balance sheet. Trouble-shooting is continuing.

4. The Secretary reported email correspondence.

The Secretary reported an inquiry from filmmaker Brian Nash. Ken will investigate and advance information.

The Secretary reported an invitation from Executive Director Rubin of the BC Environmental Network to speak in Victoria on Saturday, 19 April 2008 at the annual Earth Justice Rally.

The Secretary reported receipt from Dr. Scott Prudham of a newly published article in Journal of Rural Studies, entitled Tall Among the Trees: Organizing Against Globalist Forestry In Rural British Columbia. This is an academic analysis of the YTS
experience.

5. Chris, Roger, and Keith reported meeting MLA Doug Routley to discuss youth outreach on Thursday, 31 January 2008. As agreed, a detailed scholarship proposal was subsequently sent to the MLA for his consideration and approval.

6. Ken and Chris reported being introduced on the floor of the BC Legislature on Wednesday, 13 February 2008 by MLA Doug Routley. Question Period focussed on provincial forest policy concerns.

7. Ken reported on communications with lawyer Joseph Arvay.

8. Roger reported on accepting an invitation to attend a meeting at the University of Victoria to discuss private forestland issues with interested parties on Thursday, 28 February 2008.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:00 AM after the Directors agreed to reconvene at the Silverbridge Hotel Restaurant, Duncan on Wednesday, 05
March 2008 at 9:00 AM.
