The Monday 28 July 2008 meeting of the executive
directors was convened at the Silver Bridge Hotel Restaurant, Duncan
at 9:00am with All directors but Casey and Weir present. Members
Keith Dickens and Roger Wiles were present as was Bill Routley.
1. It was moved and seconded to accept the minutes
of 11 June, 2008 meeting as circulated.
2. The agenda for today’s meeting was moved
and seconded.
3. The treasurer reported on current bank balances
and we are sound.
4. Bill Routley addressed the directors·
Bill is seeking the NDP nomination for the new local riding.
· Directors and guests questioned Bill about
his platform and in particular his forest policy.
· The directors explained to Bill that the
YTS is non political and work toward forest policy changes.
5. Ken reported on correspondence.
· WFI has sent letters to all employees
detailing the Governments transition fund.
· Scott Prudham met for breakfast with some
of the directors and later that night with members at Ken’s
weekly meeting, to outline some ideas he has regarding ongoing research
with the YTS. Scott plans to follow up with a “think tank”
style round table in December of this year.
6. Ken reported on legal developments
· Lawyer Joe Arvay is on holiday but still awaiting some
documents from the Steelworkers.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:00 am after directors
agreed to reconvene at the Silver Bridge Restaurant in Duncan on
Thursday Aug 13.
