The October 15, 2008 meeting of the executive directors was convened at the former Bumpers restaurant, Duncan at 9:00 am with all directors but Vermiere and Wier present. Members Wiles and Dickens were present.

1. It was moved and seconded to accept the minutes of the last meeting.

2. The agenda for today’s meeting was circulated and accepted.

3. The treasurer reported and our balance sheet looks healthy.

4. Keith reported on his attendance at the Forest Society AGM held in Victoria.

a. Centennial Proposal and how we can help.

b. Membership has increased.

c. Keith to set a meeting with our exec and theirs.

5. Roger gave notice of an upcoming Environmental Commission open house and encouraged our attendance.

6. Ken gave notice of the WCWC rally to stop log exports and protect ancient forest, taking place on Oct 25 in Victoria.

7. Keith has agreed to do the next newsletter which will be out in November.

8. The Christmas party was discussed.

a. It was suggested that we invite other like groups to join us.

b. The pros and cons of live entertainment were discussed.. Ken to follow up on.

9. Ken reported on the latest news from Lawyer Joe Arvay… more details to follow.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:00 am after directors agreed to reconvene in two weeks.
