The March 25, 2009 meeting of the executive directors was convened at Paul and Tina’s Restaurant, Duncan with all but Casey and Wier present. Member L Vermiere attended

1. It was moved and seconded to accept the minutes of the last meeting

2. The agenda for today’s meeting was circulated and accepted

3. The treasurer reported

4. There was much discussion about the meeting with BC Forest Society

· Members felt we were valuable in helping direct the focus of the up-coming report

· It was suggested they use a 2 prong approach

· One a technical one for their peers

· One a more “common” paper that could be clearly understood by the general public

· It was suggested the YTS could be effective in delivering the 2nd report

· All agreed that time is important to get this to the public

· It was decided that Harry would author the draft and it would be circulated for comments

· The YTS directors had mixed feelings about the results of the meeting

5. There was discussion around putting an entry into the Lake Cowichan Parade

· The general feeling was that if we can obtain seedlings to give out we could do an entry

6. There was more discussion about a possible Rally to highlight Forestry Job Losses.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:00am after directors agreed to meet again on April 8, 2009
