The August 6th, 2009 meeting of the YTS executive was held at the Silver Bridge Restaurant at 9am. In attendance was R Wier, K James, K Dickens, R Wiles, A Mitchel and R Travers

1. The agenda for today’s meeting was circulated and passed

2. There was no treasurer’s report

3. Discussion was held about our meeting with an outside group regarding our medical plan and some specific benefits

4. Discussion was held regarding delinquent YTS PBC members

a. We have had to send several notices out recently
b. All but 2 have paid and are now current
c. It was decided that a registered letter be sent to both “members” notifying them that they would be taken off our PBC for failing to pay within 7 days

5. More discussion was held on follow-ups to our outreach plans regarding “Trust Forests”

a. Ken will try to facilitate meetings with other like-minded groups, to present our plan to
b. The advantage of a log yard attached to a Trust Forest was discussed and all were in favour
c. The need to keep pressure on Government’s to try to obtain land for our Trust Forests was noted

6. Discussion was held about upcoming conferences being held and which might be beneficial for the YTS to attend

The meeting adjourned at 11 am without a firm date set for the next meeting (dependant on arranging times with other groups)
