Submissions from Ken James March 30, 2004 (Ken attended day 2 of the Verification hearings held in Victoria today.) I just got home from day 2 of the trial for certification.
Both the Crown and our Lawyer have presented our case to the magistrate
and now have to await his decision, which he has reserved. He told
us he would render his decision in a "timely" manner (which
could mean a few days or a few weeks) (Ken attended the Verification hearing held in Victoria today.) Day one of our legal action went about as expected.... lots of legal "jargon" and submissions from other case to try and show if we have reason to continue. We are feeling optimistic but also know that
things can change very quickly. The legal submissions and arguments
from both our lawyer and those from the Crown, are expected to end
tomorrow. It is not known if the Judge will at that time give his
decision or if he will wait and give a written submission at a later
date. |
