Director Richard Weir gives out free tree seedling to youngster
along parade route.
The Youbou TimberLess Society (YTS)
entered a float in the recent Lake Cowichan Parade and won a third
prize ribbon for the effort.
Director Rick Vermiere headed up the initiative.
The YTS wishes to thank Cairnpark Nursery Services and Dinter Nursery
for their material and moral support.
Over 1200 packaged Yellow Cedar seedlings were
dispensed to young and old along the parade route. Despite a damp
day, the public reception was nothing short of enthusiastic!
The Society retains a quantity of fresh seedlings
which can be obtained for a nominal dollar per tree donation to
the YTS. Contact President Ken James at 746-8684.
