ULTRA-MARATHON CHAMP FOR YTS

Youbou TimberLess Society Director Richard Weir is delighted to announce that high-energy supporter Buddy Bhandar is registered in The Great Lake Walk (around Cowichan Lake) to be held this year on Saturday, 15 September 2007. All money raised by Buddy in pledges will go to advancing the work of the Youbou TimberLess Society.

Buddy, now a Shawnigan Lake resident, was a stationary steam engineer in the power plant at the Youbou Sawmill. He hails from a family that knows firsthand the critical importance of BC's forest sector to working people and the communities where they live.

Not only will Buddy lead this fundraising effort for your Society, but he is determined to do it in record time. The 56 km Great Lake Walk will actually be run by this intrepid volunteer! (His stamina is not to be doubted, last year he placed third in the same event with a finishing time of 4:59:09.)

Richard encourages donors to run with a champion and show solidarity with the Youbou TimberLess Society by giving generously.

Pledges will be accepted via PayPal on this website or by giving in-person to YTS Directors bearing official pledge sheets.
